Let's start with our own company American Debt Co LLC.

First thing that we want to say is that we are not an accredited member of the BBB. What does accredited BBB member mean? In short it means that we refuse to pay the BBB to give us a high grade on their grading scale. You'll see many companies that have 100+ complaints, yet have an A+ rating with the BBB. We only have 3 complaints in the past 3 years and they give us a B rating. We've even contact the BBB several times to ask the this exact question, "other than paying the BBB, is there a way that we can raise our rating from a B to an A?" They wont reply to our emails nor voicemails.

Our advice to you, is look at two main factors, how long has the debt consolidation company been in business and how many consumer complaints do they have against them. It's normal to have a few complaints, as there's always going to be a few unhappy customers. But if a company has 100's you may not want to do business with them.

The one serious complaint they are speaking of is also the same as the one that's considered not resolved. It was a case of buyers remorse. This particular client was in the program for a few months and changed her mind, and canceled. As per her contract, she was refunded a portion of the fees she had paid in, less a $300 termination fee. Even though we worked on her case for 3 months she felt we didn't deserve a penny. Therefore the case is considered unresolved.
